Shoot between the legs... and score!!!
Obviously being a show off is not the main point of lacrosse, but there's no harm in a good trick every now and then to get the audience excited. This trick is called the... Lacrosse Llama (for lack of creativity)!! It's where you shoot the ball in between your legs and into the goal. Here are the steps:
- To complete this trick, you must be fairly close to the crease. It's a good one to pull when you are open and you have a one-on-one with the goalie.
- While running, start cradling only with your dominant hand. Your opposite shoulder should be facing the goal.
- Look at one of the top corners of the goal (to throw off the goalie) and turn your stick upside down and quickly do a one-handed shot through your legs and into one of the bottom corners of the goal. This is a similar motion to dribbling a basketball through your legs. It will be hard to get a lot of power into your shot, but the point of this trick is to keep the goalie from seeing your stick. If this trick is done properly, the goalie will not see the shot as it goes through your legs and into the goal. You could throw a fake before or after the actual shot to throw off the goalie even more.
